Johor Bahru, Friday, 9 December 2005 , the Director General (DG) of Royal Malaysian Customs (RMC), YBhg. Dato' Haji Abdul Rahman Abdul Hamid made a working visit to the Gerbang Selatan Bersepadu project site. This was his first visit to the site since he took office in October 2005 from YBhg. Tan Sri Halil bin Abd Mutalib, the former DG of RMC. He was accompanied by Tuan Haji Sarmin Md Hussin, Director of Johor State RMC. Also present during the visit were senior officers from RMC namely YBhg. Tn. Hj. Karim Hanaffiah, Director (Human Resource), Tn. Hj. Mohd Shaari Abdul Manaf, Deputy Director (Income Tax), Tn Hj Rosmaini Abd Shukor, Deputy Director (Prevention), Tn. Hj. Muhammad Mohd Zin, Deputy Director (Gelang Patah) and other representatives of Johor State RMC.
YBhg. Dato' Haji Abdul Rahman Abdul Hamid was warmly received by YB Dato' Yahya A. Jalil, Managing Director of Gerbang Perdana Sdn Bhd (GPSB), Ir. Anton Sebastian, Construction Director of JKR, Ir Ng Ah Kow, General Manager (Construction) of JKR, Tuan Hj Rostam Razali, Operations Director of GPSB and staff of JKR and GPSB.

The working visit commenced at 11.10am with a visual presentation of the GSB Project Progress briefing by Ir Anton Sebastian. The two-hour presentation also included a briefing on the handing over of the new Custom, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) Complex when it is ready by En. Abdul Malek Jalil, Manager, Project Coordination and followed by Q&A session. |

At the briefing, the DG expressed his gratitude for organizing the working visit and presentation. He took note of the briefing on the latest developments and issues requiring his attention and made some good suggestions in improving current system to ensure customers satisfaction.
The working visit was adjourned for prayers and continued at 1.45pm . the DG was given a briefing on the project model by YB Dato' Yahya A. Jalil before being served with lunch in the exhibition hall.
After a group photograph session, the entourage was taken for a tour of the new CIQ Complex under construction whereby they were briefed by Ir. Anton Sebastian and Tn Hj Rostam on the ongoing works.
The working visit ended at 3.45p.m.
