Talks on the proposed construction of a full bridge that would replace the causeway between Singapore and Malaysia will go on and discussions will also dwell into the issue of trade-offs the city-state hoped for. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said Wisma Putra, which is handling the bilateral talks, would discuss concessions wanted by Singapore that it be granted permission to use Johor's airspace for its defence training and the sale of sand from Malaysia.

Abdullah was asked after the Internal Security Ministry's monthly assembly, to comment on Singapore wanting concession from Malaysia in return for agreeing to jointly build a bridge between the two countries.
