WORKING VISIT BY YAB TAN SRI DATO’ HAJI MUHYIDDIN BIN MOHD YASSIN, THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA TO JB SENTRAL & BANGUNAN SULTAN ISKANDAR, JOHOR BAHRU

Tuesday, 27 April 2010 – The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM), YAB Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Mohd Yassin accompanied by Menteri Besar Johor, YAB Dato’ Haji Abdul Ghani bin Othman and the Minister of Works, YB Dato’ Shaziman bin Abu Mansor made a working visit to JB Sentral & Bangunan Sultan Iskandar(BSI).

The DPM arrived at JB Sentral at about 2.30 p.m. together with his entourage. The DPM was received and greeted by the Minister of Works and other federal and state government agencies at the entrance of JB Sentral. The DPM’s entourage was then ushered to receive the police salute from the Auxiliary Police (AP) of BSI at the façade of JB Sentral.

The host, Ministry of Works through it agency, Public Works Department (JKR) led the DPM’s working visit to JB Sentral and BSI. The visit was conducted and briefed by Tuan Hj. Zulkifly bin Madon, the Construction Director of JKR-GSB.

 

 

 
 
 

The DPM’s first tour was a “meet and greet” with the public and business owners at JB Sentral.

The DPM and his entourage then ushered to BSI for Gerbang Selatan Bersepadu (GSB) project briefing. The presentation was held at Bilik Gambir in BSI. There were two presentations: first is on the GSB Project briefing by Tuan Hj. Zulkifly Madon and secondly, a short briefing on Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) presented by the Director General of Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), Dato’ Ir. Ismail bin Md. Salleh.

The GSB Project briefing includes the background of the GSB Project, its components and the remaining progress works of the project and finally on Advanced Maintenance Precision Management (AMPM) scope of work that is on the facility management of BSI.

The project briefing presentation ended with Q & A session with the DPM where parties involved in the briefing were given opportunities to highlight issues, challenges and way forward to resolve the impending issues highlighted by the public.

 

The DPM concluded the briefing session by announcing to the audience that a special task force or committee would be formed under the Public Works Department (JKR) headed by the Director General of Public Works Department (JKR) to look into improving the current system. The task force is given one month to report on its findings on ways to enhance the services of BSI.

Thereafter, immediately after briefing the DPM called for a press conference with the media.

The DPM working visit ended with Hi-tea with all invitees at Bilik Lada Hitam in BSI.
